Advertising and affiliate disclosure

No advertising is running on this site yet, and no page currently contains an affiliate link. Nothing here earns a commission if you book accommodation, buy a product or reserve a tour.

That is the current state rather than a permanent policy. This site is set up to display advertising through Google AdSense, and the ads.txt file in the site root declares that publisher relationship in advance, which is why it exists before any ad does. When ads go live they will be served by Google and its partners, the cookie banner will ask for your consent before any advertising cookie is set, and this page will say so plainly.

Affiliate links may be introduced later for accommodation, tours and gear. If they are, they will be marked where they appear and disclosed here first.

The editorial rule holds either way: commission does not determine what gets recommended, nothing is written in exchange for payment, and no partner sees a guide before it is published. If somewhere was not worth the money, the guide says so.

Travel information

Guides here are based on personal trips and research. They are honest about what was experienced, but they are one person's account rather than a comprehensive survey.

Travel conditions change constantly. A neighbourhood that felt fine one year can feel different the next. Ferries change schedules, restaurants close, visa rules shift, and safety situations evolve faster than any website updates. Treat what's here as a starting point, then check current official sources, listed here, close to your departure date.

They are not a professional risk assessment and cannot account for your circumstances, your route or conditions on the day. Your safety while travelling is your own responsibility. Read the relevant government travel advisory before you book, and again before you fly.

Nothing here is medical, legal, financial or insurance advice. Health and vaccination information is general and should be confirmed with a travel clinic or your doctor. Visa and entry information should be confirmed with the relevant embassy or official immigration service for your specific passport.
